1. Definitions

• “Rental Company”– “Pentayitis Rentals”, the provider of the rental vehicle.

• “Renter”– The person or entity renting the vehicle as per the rental agreement.

• “Vehicle”– The car, including all its parts, accessories, and documents, provided for rent.

• “Rental Period”– The duration for which the Vehicle is rented, as specified in the agreement.

2. Rental Requirements

• The minimum Rental Period is 3 days (72 hours).

• The Renter must be at least 25 years old unless he holds a valid driver’s license for at least 3 years.

• An international driving permit (IDP) may be required for non-EU license holders.

• A credit card in the Renter’s name is required for the security deposit.

• The Renter must provide a valid passport or ID and proof of address if requested.

3. Rental Period & Extensions

• The rental period is as agreed in the contract.

• Extensions must be requested in advance and are subject to availability and additional charges.

• Failure to return the Vehicle on time may result in late fees (up to 150% of the daily rate).

4. Rental Rates & Payment

• The rental fee includes unlimited mileage (unless stated otherwise), basic insurance, and VAT.

• Additional charges may apply for:

  • Extra driver

  • GPS, child seats, or other extras

  • Fuel (if not returned with the same level)

  • Traffic fines or toll violations

• A refundable security deposit (€300–€1,500 depending on the car) will be held until the Vehicle is returned undamaged.

5. Insurance Coverage

• Basic insurance (CDW – Collision Damage Waiver) is included but carries an excess/deductible (€500–€1,500).

• Theft Protection (TP) is included but may also have an excess.

• Full Coverage (Zero Excess) is available for an additional fee.

• Insurance is void if:

  • The driver is under the influence of alcohol/drugs.

  • The Vehicle is driven off-road or on unauthorized roads.

  • The driver is not listed in the rental agreement.

6. Prohibited Use

The Renter must NOT:

• Use the Vehicle for illegal activities, racing, or towing.

• Drive outside Cyprus without prior written permission.

• Carry more passengers than the Vehicle’s capacity.

• Smoke or transport pets without prior approval.

7. Maintenance & Breakdowns

• The Renter must check oil, water, and tire pressure regularly.

• In case of a breakdown, the Renter must contact the Rental Company immediately.

• Repairs over €50 require prior approval unless in an emergency.

8. Accidents & Damage

• The Renter must report any accident or damage immediately to the police and Rental Company.

• Failure to report may result in full liability for damages.

• The security deposit may be used to cover damages not covered by insurance.

9. Fuel Policy

• The Vehicle must be returned with the same fuel level as at pickup.

• If not, refueling charges will apply at a higher rate than local fuel prices.

10. Traffic Fines & Penalties

• The Renter is responsible for all traffic fines, parking tickets, and toll fees during the rental period.

• An administration fee (€15–€50) will be charged for fines processed by the Rental Company.

11. Vehicle Return

• The Vehicle must be returned on the agreed date, time, and location.

• Late returns beyond the agreed time incur extra charges equal to 20% of the daily rate for every hour in excess.

• The Vehicle will be inspected upon return, and any new damages will be charged accordingly.

12. Cancellation Policy

• Free cancellation up to 48 hours before pickup.

• Late cancellations or no-shows may incur a fee of 1 day’s rental.

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

• This agreement is governed by Cyprus law.

• Any disputes will be settled in Cyprus courts.

14. General

• The Rental Company reserves the right to terminate the rental if the Renter breaches any terms.

• The Renter is responsible for all costs arising from misuse or negligence.
